A custom typeface made from two existing typefaces with accompanying promotional and display posters applied to a fashion ad campaign.
The Parent Typefaces
Two “parent” typefaces chosen to manipulate and create a new typeface.
Identifying Charactaristics
Identifying unique characteristics in form and style is imperitive to determine which traits the “offspring” typeface will inherit from the existing fonts.
Combining the Two
To create the new typeface, I made the height to width ratio more similar to Typeka and gave the letterforms a textured stroke with serifs, and I kept the squared counters and shorter arms and tails of Neuropol X.
The Offspring
The resulting typeface carries qualities of both its “parents,” creating a unique font that is reminiscent of 90s grunge culture with a futuristic flair.
Type Display Posters
Leaning into the grungy vibe I curated during the typeface creation, I created a promotional poster and a display poster that embodies the rebellious spirit I imagined for Neurotype.
Typeface Application
Expanding upon the promotional poster, I developed banner ads promoting Neurotype as a new fashion collection offered exclusively at Urban Outfitters.
